Me time, Alone Time, Solitude – what do you call it? For some people, being alone is a nightmare, they call it isolation, lonely, abandoned, no one cares and if you are constantly alone, then it is very damaging mentally. Yet for others, having at least some time alone is a necessity, something they desperately need for their mental health, for reducing stress and for improving creativity and personal relationships. Here are some alone time quotes I have curated for you, together with beautiful photographs to help you have a little solitude to enjoy, even if only on the computer.
Alone Time And Innovation
Where do you innovate best? I love a hot lazy bath, early in the morning straight after I have got out of bed. No one else is up then, so I get peace and quiet, with no one banging on the door. Having just got up, I may still be a bit sleepy and can let my thoughts wander where they please. I have had some very good ideas or strategies pop into my head in these quiet time baths. They can also help me plan my future goals or decide what is the best thing to do next. Check out the science on this here.
Solitude – The Teacher
Some people are afraid of being alone with their thoughts, yet solitude is a great way of examining your deepest thoughts and values. You can combine this with journalling, to record your thoughts and ideas, a good way to relax and find comfort and peace. If you do not know what to do with your alone time, you can find some ideas here.
Solitude And Wellbeing
Even in the best and most loving of relationships, it can be important to have “me time” or “alone time” by yourself, not just alone time with your partner. This does not necessarily have to mean solitude, it can mean being with friends or taking a class separately from your loved one or even just an hour in the local library! In the early stages of a partnership, being away from your partner can be worrying or tiresome – you just want to be with them all the time but eventually, there will come a time when being apart for a while will help keep your relationship alive and sparkling, provided you both discuss this and agree with it. It gives you a different perspective on life, something new to talk about and discuss, even just a rest from the energy required to sustain a relationship. Time For Me Now
I met a woman out walking. Usually, I saw her dog with her but this time she was alone. I asked her was the dog not going for a walk and she said no, that the dog had already been for a walk, was now resting at home and that, “This time is for me now”! No matter how good your companion, human or animal, sometimes, you need time alone.
